Dr. Xzabia Caliste joins The Vascular Group in August 2016 having recently completed her Vascular Surgery Residency at the University of Rochester. Dr. Caliste is a graduate of Georgetown University School of Medicine and Williams College. She completed a Research Fellowship with the Department of Surgery at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC prior to completing her Vascular Surgery residency. While in Residency she has had numerous publications and she was the recipient of the American Venous Forum’s BSN-Jobst Research Fellowship award for outstanding research in 2013. This earned her a podium presentation at the AVF. She also won an award for her basic science presentation at the 29th Annual Vascular Fellows Abstract Presentation in 2013. Dr. Caliste also earned a podium presentation at the SCVS for her work in venous disease. She has published several book chapters.
Dr. Caliste has been trained to diagnose and treat all forms of Vascular Disease in both open surgical and endovascular techniques. Dr. Caliste enjoys traveling, live music and spending time with family.
Dr. Caliste lives in Albany and will be seeing patients in our Albany office. She has privileges at all of the surrounding hospitals and will soon have privileges at the VA hospital.
